From directing to editing a video, students will need to work with others to create and finish it. Students will learn how to work in teams effectively. They will need to voice their opinions and discuss what things may work or may not work. This will strengthen their leadership and teamwork skills, as well as their critical thinking skill. Since creating a video involves using technology, students will learn different kinds of softwares to edit their videos. There are so many options and effects that video softwares can provide today. By using those technologies, the students will have the chance to explore other mediums, such as sound, photography, and graphic design. Videos can really provide infinite possibilities for creativity and if the students can utilize all the given tools effectively, there will be so many things students can take from.
Students can also broaden their video experience by watching other well-known films. They will have the chance to discuss the theme, shooting, and editing styles. This will have students to engage more with the medium of film and incorporate any inspirations they may gotten from watching other works. This will also open up the discussion in a critical and creative way. There are so many elements videos can bring to a classroom. Like I mentioned earlier, videos may need music, graphic design, and special effects incorporated. This factor will make the medium of film more interesting to the students.
