This past weekend, I worked with Dahye for the sound project. As I was brainstorming about what sounds to record, I started to focus hard on the sounds around me. It was interesting because I started to notice many different sounds that I have been ignoring and started to appreciate them. Sounds like traffic, wind, and printers all have different volumes and rhythms. It was kind of fun listening to them and even harder for the project. I really enjoyed doing the sound project. I learned that there are so many options you could do with the app, Audacity. It was really nice to mix and mash the sounds that I collected and just kept listening to them all together. Sound is such a strong medium and I have never thought of it like that. The creative freedom that you have with sound is endless because sound is basically everywhere.
Sound is such a strong communication form. People react and respond to it. It would be very fun to incorporate it into a lesson plan. I wonder how students would react to creating a new sound for themselves. How would they respond and would they enjoy doing that? As I was researching different sound art online, I came across this very recent article that showcases today's influential sound artists: https://news.artnet.com/art-world/12-sound-artists-changing-perception-art-587054

7.1 New Outside, New Inside
I collaborated with Dahye on this project. We first talked about the concept and decided to record sounds from outside and inside. Dahye collected sounds from the outside which were wind and traffic. I collected inside sounds at the TC library. I stood in front of two printers to collect one of two sounds and used a computer to collect the second sound. After collecting the total of four sounds together, Dahye and I wanted to familiarize ourselves with the app, Audacity by watching YouTube tutorials. We were both fascinated by how much Audacity could do and how much control we had over sound. We kept playing with the sounds on Audacity by spliting sounds, increasing some volumes, and adding in some effects. During the process, we talked a lot on where to add certain sound and when to increase and decrease the volumes. We uploaded our result on SoundCloud. Hope you all enjoy!

6.3 Impact 25
I worked with Regina for this project. We came up with a question of "What is technology? What does it mean to you?" and decided to collect 25 drawings that represent the question. We set up a table in front of TC library last Wednesday along with our Macbook and Wacom tablet. Some people were curious with what we were up to and participated in our project. We set up an Instagram account to present these drawings. Follow us @impactme25 and check out people's awesome drawings!
6.2 Potential of Video In Classrooms
From directing to editing a video, students will need to work with others to create and finish it. Students will learn how to work in teams effectively. They will need to voice their opinions and discuss what things may work or may not work. This will strengthen their leadership and teamwork skills, as well as their critical thinking skill. Since creating a video involves using technology, students will learn different kinds of softwares to edit their videos. There are so many options and effects that video softwares can provide today. By using those technologies, the students will have the chance to explore other mediums, such as sound, photography, and graphic design. Videos can really provide infinite possibilities for creativity and if the students can utilize all the given tools effectively, there will be so many things students can take from.
Students can also broaden their video experience by watching other well-known films. They will have the chance to discuss the theme, shooting, and editing styles. This will have students to engage more with the medium of film and incorporate any inspirations they may gotten from watching other works. This will also open up the discussion in a critical and creative way. There are so many elements videos can bring to a classroom. Like I mentioned earlier, videos may need music, graphic design, and special effects incorporated. This factor will make the medium of film more interesting to the students.

5.3 Reading Take Aways
- Technology gives more access to people to participate in the digital world. People are easily able to look at art pieces and join in a conversation.
- It's great to incorporate the digital storytelling in classes to motivate students to participate more with technologies. Digital storytelling gives a lot of flexibilities and possibilities to people to explore other technologies.
5.2 Scanography in Art Making
Scanography gives lots of flexibilities and potentials in art making. You can choose your own objects and arrange them in your choice to scan. When choosing your objects, you can come with your own theme to paint the scene. Scanning is also quick to do, so it gives you more time to think about the objects and the arrangements. It's like painting on the scanner board. I could see students having lots of fun with scanners because of its flexibility. It opens up a discussion on what objects could be scanned and how they can be scanned. It's a nice transition from digital photography section; and a deeper and different tool to explore the objects and themes.

4.3 Connection to Children
- Children can gain a decision making skill. Photographing requires a lot of patience and thinking. People need to think about what kind of perspective, color, and how much light will be needed to capture the images they would like. Because of this, photographing will improve children's decision making skill, as well as their critical thinking skill.
- Digital photography became a common technology among people. Children will gain a basic technology skill through photography. In order to use a camera and photograph well, people will need to understand shutter speed, exposure, and ISO.
- Children will gain a different and wide perspective on objects. Through photographing, people see things that they have never seen before. They start to realize other things about certain objects, people, and places. Children will have the chance to explore the world; therefore gaining more experience and wide perspective on the world.
4.2 Impact 25 Process
Ideas:

- What is technology? What does technology mean to you?: We can have people draw pictures relating to the questions above and upload them to the Instagram account. The pictures that people will draw will be something simple. It can a simple symbol, icon, or just words that relate/represent/connect to technology. We will provide colored pencils, markers, etc. to have people draw with.
- Communicating with people through public technology: This project (http://fromkeetra.com/tiny-public-plaques/) is the inspiration that I got for this idea. There are so many technologies in the public. We can create a small stickers to put on the public technologies and put a small note on these stickers to communicate with the people. These small notes can be just simple questions or a short survey for people. Inspiration:

4.1 Creative Assignment
PART I
Concept 1: I would like to layer all the images in Photoshop and control the opacity of the photos so that the audience can see all the images. I would like to see how the light on light will look on one canvas and what kind pattern they will bring.
Concept 2: Photoshopping out all the light from the images and put them on the canvas so that they are all coming out of the doors.
PART II
I was in my hometown this weekend and I showed my mother about these two concepts. She said that the subject light was very interesting and how it shows up on the photographs. Concept 1 is the one that she liked and she wondered how these lights will come together when they are all on a canvas.
